Euthanasia & Cremations

At some point, most pet owners face the very difficult decision of euthanasia, a peaceful ending of a beloved life.   Our goal at Hayden Pet Medical Center is to make the process as smooth and stress-free as possible for both you and your pet.  Because we are all pet owners ourselves, and have been through this many times, we know how difficult these decisions can be, and we are glad to address any concerns or questions you may have in an atmosphere of dignity and respect.  Some owners wish to remain with their pet during the procedure; others prefer not to stay.  We welcome either choice and have no preconceived notions of what you should do.  Depending on your pet’s condition, the doctor may give a sedative or place an intravenous catheter to make the procedure easier.

We will prepare your pet for burial, or, if you prefer, we offer two cremation options.  Mass cremation is done with other pets and no ashes are returned.  With private cremation, the pet is cremated individually and the ashes are returned in a wooden urn.  All cremations are done in this facility by a dedicated staff member.  When the time comes, your friends at Hayden Pet Medical Center will assist with whatever arrangements you select. We will also assist you to recognize signs that your pet’s life is coming to an ending and which measures should be taken at which intervals.
