Dr. Bodkin spent his Tuesday back in the classroom. He went to River City Middle School and North Idaho Christian School. He introduced the students to the veterinary career. His presentation showed some of the things they would do as a veterinarian and explained the education requirements.
Dr. Bodkin and Dr. Cook both went back to school this week.
Dr. Bodkin went to Post Falls Middle School for Career Day. He showed the kids how fun and interesting it can be to be a veterinarian.
Dr. Cook went to Borah Elementary School to talk to the kids from CDA for Kids Program. He taught them about their pet’s teeth and the importance of dental care.
This is Katie, she is our February Pet of the Month.
Students from Coeur d’Alene High School spent one day of their Christmas vacation observing a spay surgery. They are in the BioMedical Science class and attended on a volunteer basis. They were shown the surgery process from start to finish with explanations along the way. The students were given the opportunity and encouraged to ask questions. All members of our staff enjoy helping students learn, our groomer volunteered her pet for the surgery. We encourage teachers to contact us to see what projects and opportunities we can offer to further education.

Our January Pet of the Month is Joey Rambo. He is such a handsome guy.
Alec is a high school senior who is volunteering with us to gather information for his senior paper and to help create his senior project. He is interested in learning the daily routine of a veterinarian. He will need to complete 15 hours with us. We take pride in helping our young volunteers gain an appreciation for the veterinary field. We hope to encourage them to pursue their education and even consider a career in veterinary medicine.
The girls are dressed up in their holiday attire to announce the Hayden Pet Medical Trimming Claws for a Cause food drive. Just bring us 3 (or more) canned or boxed food items and your pet will receive a complimentary nail trim. No appointment necessary, just bring your food items and your pet to the clinic from December 6th to December 21st. Let’s all pitch in to help the members of our community who have fallen on difficult times.
At the beginning of every month we draw a Pet of the Month winner from our box of entries. We want everyone to be able to see our great patients so we will be sharing the photos of our lucky winners here.
Our Pet of the Month for December is Kaika. It is not often that we draw a kitty as pet of the month since we see more dogs than cats. He is such a lucky and handsome guy. Congratulations Kaika
On June 28th Dr. Cook presented at the CDA4Kids summer program, a summer enrichment program for grade school students. He educated the children on ticks, fleas, and other parasites on their pet’s skin.
